5 Outdoor Movie Nights You DON’T Want to Miss

I hate to be the one to say it, but here it is: summer is winding down. For those of you who love turtlenecks, PSLs, and have been counting the days until school’s back in session, this is exciting news. But for those of us who only feel alive when it’s 20 degrees or higher… this. is. tragic. (And yes, I’m crying with you.)

With just over a week left in August, now’s the time to soak up every last bit of Birkenstock weather and squeeze in those outdoor activities. And what better activity than an outdoor movie night? Check out the venues below to see which one fits your taste and schedule!

  1. 🎬Movies at the Mile

    This Racetrack is no one trick pony. Stop by midweek to see it transform into the ultimate cinema experience. Grab some popcorn and a snack at the concession and get cozy with a blanket, sleeping mat, or whatever you can fit into your car. Make sure to catch their latest edition this year: Markets at the Mile. Vendors will be posted up in the indoor tent from 5-8pm.

  2. 🎆Movie Night in the Park + Fireworks

    Gather your blankets and settle in for a magical evening at Potter Greens Park. This annual event opens with a night market and wraps up with a cozy screening. They’ll be serving up hotdogs, popcorn, candy and more. Make sure to stay back after the movie because when the credits end the fireworks begin!

    Kick back under the stars at South Terwillegar Spray Park for a free outdoor screening hosted by the Terwillegar Community League. Since there’s no concession on site, bring your own snacks and drinks, spread out on the grass, and enjoy the show once the sun sets.

  4. 🐢Movie Under the Stars

    Fort Saskatchewan’s beloved outdoor movie night returns at Legacy Park with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles double feature. Come dressed as your favourite turtle and enjoy themed games, inflatables, face painting, giveaways, and even a visit with some friendly sheep before the movies begin.
