A Night at the Cabaret
Last month, I had the pleasure of visiting the Spotlight Cabaret. This restaurant and live venue offers drag, improv, comedy, and live music, but their true claim to fame is their dinner theatre. I caught their show that’s currently sold out for the year, Snow Whyte and the 7 Good Fellas, and here’s how the unforgettable night went:
We arrived at the venue and were immediately greeted by the actors, who guided us to our table. The menu for the evening was cleverly Snow Whyte–themed. While the soup and salad were set items, we were able to choose our entrée and dessert. Before the show began, two of the actors, Jeff and Aimée, asked if anyone in the audience was celebrating a special occasion. Little did we know, those discussions they had wth the audience would be woven into the performance itself. During this time, we were also served our soup, salad, and drinks. Jeff and Aimée encouraged us to sing along, take photos, and bring the energy.
The show started and had us hooked instantly. The humour was fast and witty, and the musical numbers were catchy enough that the whole audience could sing along. When the first half wrapped up, we headed into intermission, where our entrée and dessert were served. The second half began promptly afterward, and was somehow even funnier than the first. We had such a great time that we were already talking about when we could come back.
The dinner theatre at the Spotlight Cabaret was truly iconic. If you’re considering going, I cannot recommend it enough. There’s still time to grab tickets here for their upcoming 2026 shows, including Snow Whyte and the 7 Good Fellas or their brand-new production, The Greatest Showgirl on Earth. Move fast though, because tickets sell out quickly! Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for a fun night out, this spontaneous yet meticulously curated show is a must-see.
